Etisalat honored for its outstanding corporate social responsibility

Present was His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Minister of Defence.

Etisalat's Acting President and Chief Executive Officer, Mohammed Hassan Omran, said on the occasion: "Etisalat has always been at the forefront of contributors and sponsors of social initiatives, and this emanates from the spirit of national responsibility that pervades everything that the corporation embarks on. Etisalat, since its establishment in 1976, has repeatedly demonstrated its active role is promoting social and economic development in the UAE, in addition to providing the best in terms of services and technology. We are very proud of our achievements through which Etisalat has become the largest institution in the country to promote social, economic, cultural, touristic and sports activities.

"The corporation has laid down the infrastructure of modern telecommunications according to the highest international standards and it is against such developments the advancement of nations is measured. Most recently the Corporations has offered many facilities that ensure the smooth running of businesses and maximize productivity and efficiency."

Etisalat has recently sponsored many activities and they include: Dubai Shopping Festival, Dubai Summer Surprises, the Ramadan Festival in Sharjah, the Ajman Shopping Festival, the Power Boat Speed Racing event in Ras Al Khaimah, the Emirates Civilization Marathon and a the Flower Show and Festival in Al Ain, the Future Tourism Investment in the Gulf Cooperation Council conference, the Bowling championship in Fujairah, the Competition Tours organized by the Ministry of Education, and the Special Needs Care and Rehabilitation Center.

As a leading force in the region in the field of telecommunications, the position enjoyed by Etisalat comes to reflect in turn the developed position held by UAE in general under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai, and their fellow Highnesses members of the Supreme Council of Rulers.
