Nakheel invites Greg Norman to Dubai, says launch of golfing division imminent

According to the company, a grand plan for Dubai will be unveiled Monday to coincide with his visit, pertaining to a dedicated golfing division.

Hailing Norman's visit to Dubai, Wahid Attalla, Nakheel's Executive Director of Commercial and Operations also offered a few glimpses into the formal launch scheduled for next week: "Nakheel will shortly announce plans that will positively change the face of golf in Dubai forever. Our plans will not merely enhance our real estate projects but more significantly, will increase the reputation of Dubai as a unique and unforgettable destination. Greg Norman, who is the most popular name in the international world of golf will be partnering with us on this project. Jointly, we will enliven the Nakheel vision to place Dubai firmly at the pinnacle of international golf.

"Nakheel's new golfing division will be responsible for golf development in Dubai - from inception to operation and right through to promotion. As with everything that has come to be expected of Dubai and of Nakheel's role in the development of Dubai, there will be a few grand surprises in store," he promised.

"The world of international golf is about to receive some of their biggest surprises ever, and together with our chosen team of prominent golfing stars and architects, we will ensure that we deliver each one of them, and exceed all expectations," he said, adding that next week could probably be the most exciting ever, for golfers all over the world.

He also added, "We have a successful history as real estate developers with proven strengths in all key areas - planning, designing, implementing, promoting and maintaining. It is by extending this expertise and experience that we have planned the launch of a division to specialise in the development of golf courses and golfing-themed commercial and residential properties in Dubai.
