'Sony World' successful at GITEX 04

Sony Gulf FZE today announced that over 100,000 visitors have visited the Sony Pavilion 'Sony World' at the GITEX Computer Shopper, Airport Expo, Middle East's largest IT consumer event, which commenced on October 2 and lasted till October 8.

Mr. Masaru Tamagawa, Managing Director of Sony Gulf FZE, said that the high visitor turnout this year at Sony World, which was almost double that of last year, was indicative of the growing consumer interest in technology and gaming across the Middle East.

A key highlight of Sony World was the presence of QRIO, Sony's biped entertainment robot and corporate ambassador. QRIO, which traveled to the Middle East for the first time, was at GITEX on a special invitation from the Gulf operations of Sony Corporation.

Another key attraction at Sony World this year was the much awaited new-look, slim PlayStation 2 console which was previewed at the PlayStation Experience and will be available in the Middle East in November.

Sony showcased the latest gaming titles at the `PlayStation Experience', some of which are yet to be released giving gamers and non-gamers an exclusive preview to these software titles. Some of the titles previewed in seven different zones were - The Getaway: Black Monday, This Is Football 2005, SingStar Party, Killzone and EyeToy: Play 2 bringing in a wide gamut of the gaming experience to consumers visiting the Experience.
