Raqmiyat to launch mid-market ERP solution
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, October 13 - 2004 at 12:12
- PRESS RELEASE
Raqmiyat, the UAE-based software developer and systems integrator, has revolutionised its popular Global Enterprise Management System (GEMS) software, and will launch the new version later this year.
According to Raqmiyat COO Tapas Roy, the characteristics of Arabia's trading history, where many companies have evolved into multi-purpose trading groups, means software solutions need to answer issues that are specific to this region.
Roy said: "After feedback over six years, we found out that many of our customers had migrated from traditional accounting systems to an integrated system covering point of sale, CRM, and other specialised areas. As a result, Raqmiyat decided to come up with its own integrated ERP system.
"Our new ERP solution has been created to meet the needs our customers have identified, and allow them to operate a web-based management system at lower costs than some of the products on the market."
According to Roy, the fact that the programme is developed with mid-market companies in mind means that it presents a more cost-effective solution. "We believe that companies can save up to 40 per cent on the costs of installing and implementing our ERP solutions rather than that of larger tier one international products.
"Running costs are then reduced by more than 50 per cent thanks to savings on time and operations costs."
While the new product has yet to be launched, Roy announced that they have already signed advance deals with companies outside the GCC, with operations to be integrated online from offices in Dubai. The UAE-based Raqmiyat is a leading systems integration and IT services company, providing world-class business and technology solutions through partnerships with international firms.
