  • PRESS RELEASE

Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) announced that a new agreement with Emirates Post would allow all Etisalat customers to query the details of their bills and make payments at all offices of Emirates Post across the country, from 1st November onwards.

These locations would even include the facility to recharge and renew Wasel connections.

Emirates Post outlets are present in all cities, towns and suburban areas of the country, and all connectivity to make Emirates Post outlets online with the Etisalat servers are completed. Any transaction at an Emirates Post outlet would result in the customer's central information at Etisalat being updated instantaneously. Customers can currently pay by cash, and soon will be able to pay by credit card.

Mohammed Hassan Omran, Acting President and CEO, Etisalat, said: "We are very happy to be able to offer this added convenience to our customers. Our customers would find this as a good option to visiting Etisalat offices and service centers for their needs."

"As a special gesture to our valued subscribers, we are providing all those who use the Emirates Post outlets for recharging their Wasel accounts with 10% extra at no cost. These outlets are capable of recharging starting from a minimum of Dhs.30, and in multiples of 10 thereafter. With this 10 per cent free, anyone charging Dhs.30 would get Dhs.33 credited to their account," he added.

"We are pleased to add another offering to the portfolio of public services at post-offices. This partnership with Etisalat takes us closer to our goal of bringing multiple community services under one roof through our network of post offices, saving people the time and effort in involved in doing routine transactions," said Mr. Abdulla Al Daboos, Director General, Emirates Post. "Etisalat is one of the most dynamic communications companies in the region. The synergy that Emirates Post shares with Etisalat will enable us to deliver the highest levels of service to customers."

"Over the past few months, Emirates Post has been introducing a number of non-postal services at post offices, including DEWA and SEWA bill payment, Sharjah Medical District services, Dubai Municipality's prepaid parking cards and fine payment service, Sharjah Police fine payment, e-Vision subscriptions and Air Arabia tickets," added Al Daboos. "This is just the beginning, because Emirates Post has developed an elaborate strategy to make post-offices integrated centres for multiple community services."

As a part of its commitment to offering better services and facilities to customers, Etisalat believes in taking its services closer to the customer, wherever they may be, and such partnerships with corporations with a large presence adds value. The corporation has indicated the imminent announcement of such partnerships with a whole range of other companies and banks, enabling the Etisalat subscriber to make his enquiries and payments at many more locations across the country.
