The campaign was held in conjunction with Portuguese investment bank, Banco Efisa SA.

Visiting representatives from Madeira provided Gulf investors with information on Madeira's economy as well as its highly attractive investment and real estate opportunities through a series of meetings which were organised by TAIB Bank.

Madeira is the main island of Madeira Islands in the Atlantic Ocean, an autonomous region of Portugal. The island is famous for warm, sunny and mild weather. It has long been a fashionable year-round holiday destination for Europeans.

Known as the "Pearl of the Atlantic", Madeira boasts splendid beaches, expansive gardens, beautiful coves with bold rock formations, and up-scale residential parks with breath-taking ocean views. Because Madeira is geo-politically linked to Portugal and Portugal is now a member of the European Union, the prospects for Madeira's prosperity have increased multifold. Under the leadership of Madeira President Mr. Alberto Joćo Jardim, the island has modernized roads, built new bridges, and implanted state-of-the-art telecommunication facilities.

With an even stronger infrastructure, Madeira is attracting more and more tourists. Many Europeans are acquiring property there. Exclusive villas are being built along the coast. More hotels are being constructed. Europeans of all ages are flocking to the island's resorts and beach festivals. The local economy is enjoying boom times.

President Jardim believes that Madeira is ready to welcome international entrepreneurial investors to help expand the development of the island's tourism industry and create new added-value service businesses. Madeira is therefore offering attractive incentives to attract new investors.
