Lufthansa announces start of new 2002 summer schedule: 747 Jumbos are standard

One of the world's leading airlines has announced the start of its summer schedules to ensure Saudi passengers enjoy the greatest levels of comfort and convenience.
The new arrival times at Frankfurt airport will ensure that all Lufthansa passengers are able to easily connect with transfer flights to other European destinations and beyond. Leaving Jeddah on Mondays and Saturdays at 2340 and Wednesdays at 2345, the services - via Riyadh - arrive in Germany at 0650 and 0655 local time.
Flights therefore leave Riyadh on Tuesdays and Sundays at 0210 and on Thursdays at 0215. From Dammam to Frankfurt Lufthansa flights will depart on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 2300 arriving in Germany at 0605.
The Boeing 747s are to operate the Jeddah and Riyadh routes from April 8, ensuring that more passengers can enjoy the world-renowned levels of service that Lufthansa provides. Sixteen passengers can travel First Class in upper deck sleeping seats - which transform into fully horizontal beds - 78 in Business Class, and 274 in Economy Class.
"The new schedule with Boeing 747 aircraft guarantee that our highly-valued Saudi passengers can continue to experience the service that all passengers expect from Lufthansa," said Uwe Wilck, Lufthansa's general manager for Saudi Arabia. Lufthansa is part of the Star Alliance network of worldwide airlines, through which it serves 727 destinations in 127 countries.
