Epicor Software Corporation (NASDAQ: EPIC), a leading provider of integrated enterprise software solutions for the midmarket, today announced the Dubai-based regional headquarters of Epicor Scala has been selected to conduct a significant enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation for Middle East Insulation (MEI) and Global Link Communications LLC, two key A and H Al Ghurair Group companies.

Established in Dubai in the year 1993, MEI is one of the leading manufacturers of Cladding System in the region. Global Link Communications LLC owns the popular Radioshack and Telefonika retail chain with 20 outlets in UAE.

Epicor iScala's superior product functionality - integrated, collaborative modules delivering optimal value to the customer at a competitive pricing were the key factors that helped Epicor Scala win the ERP implementation deals.

In the case of MEI, the iScala Manufacturing Planning and Control (MPC) and Project Management modules along with the fact that it was a single integrated package was an added advantage. Epicor iScala's MPC module is used to plan, control and execute all manufacturing activities based on MRP II concepts and work orders. Most repetitive manufacturing and re-manufacturing environments are supported, from simple assembly through to complex production lines with multiple work centers. It includes integration to production systems through the Manufacturing Application Integration connectivity solution and can be enhanced with graphical capacity planning and other iScala tools. Whereas, its Project Management module helps business to become more service delivery and project focused by helping them better control the various complex elements of estimates, budgeting, resource planning and follow-up.

The Global Link Solutions implementation was focused on the iScala SCM tool that would help streamline its complete supply chain. Thus enabling Global Link to not just cut down on waste (through duplication of processes, multiple vendors for same function etc.) but also help it in better planning and forecasting of its demand, supply and configuration requirements.

"Both MEI and Global Link being key A & H Al Ghurair group companies, winning these deals is a big marketing gain for us," said Mr. Ziad Aqrabawi, senior country manager for Epicor Scala in the Middle East. "With the proven successful implementation of iScala MPC across the MENA region, we have established our credibility in the manufacturing industry and that helped us in getting the MEI deal."
Mr. Aqrabawi added, "In the case of Global Links the client wanted to integrate their existing Microsoft Retail Management System (MRMS) to the back end ERP application. Thus after discussions it was decided that the iScala implementation would be done at the Head Office and the warehouse of the company and information from the Point of Sale (POS) system would be transferred to iScala to provide one integrated view of the business."

Commenting on the deal, Mr. Hamad Majid Al Ghurair, Managing Director, A & H Al Ghurair Group, said: "Given the diverse requirements of both businesses we required an ERP solution that was both versatile and provided us with a single integrated package. iScala matched our requirements perfectly."

The iScala implementation for Middle East Insulation will be using the software in both English and Arabic. The key modules of the iScala suite to be implemented include Financials, Asset Management, Sales Order Management, Material Management, Warehouse Management, Manufacturing Planning & Control (MPC), Supply Chain Tools, Contract Management, Project Management and Payroll Management.
For Global Link the key modules of the iScala suite to be implemented include Financials, Asset Management, Sales Order Management, Material Management, Warehouse Management, Supply Chain Tools and Payroll Management.

Epicor iScala is a globally available ERP solution, fully supported by the standard Signature implementation methodology. A set of migration tools is available for existing Epicor Scala customers who wish to migrate or upgrade to the latest release.
