In addition to its already generous features, Caprice is the only large car on the market to offer the choice of two accomplished powertrains; the all-new 3.6L Alloytec V6, offering fuel economy and refinement at an affordable price, or the Generation III V8, providing unrivalled power and torque.

According to Chris Probert, Caprice and Lumina Marketing Manager for Chevrolet, the advanced alloy construction in the Alloytec V6 creates a lighter engine and an excellent balance between fuel economy and performance.

"The state-of the art powertrain delivers an outstanding launch feel from standing starts as well as excellent mid-rev range responsiveness for effortless overtaking. Meanwhile, a significantly improved 4-speed electronic automatic transmission includes an economy program to ensure optimum fuel consumption and also a power shift program to facilitate quick downshifting when required."

The 2005 Caprice's sharp modern lines harmonise seamlessly with its classic saloon shape. The new chrome grille on the Royale gives the front a distinguished appearance and latest technology LED brake-lamps increase in intensity depending upon brake pressure applied.

"Inside, the driver feels at one with the car, with a centrally mounted control panel angled towards the driver and remote stereo controls mounted on the steering wheel ensuring excellent ergonomics," continued Probert.

A new addition to the Caprice Royale is the Front Park Assist feature which - in conjunction with Rear Park Assist - makes parking a breeze. Sensors in the front and rear of the car measure the distance and guide the driver, via audio signals, into and out of tight parking spots.

The Caprice's generous seats are electrically adjustable in the front to enable drivers and passengers to find the perfect position, and adjustable lumbar support keeps the back correctly supported. "The Caprice makes you feel like you're sitting in a piece of tailored luxury furniture," said Probert. "High quality Howe leather in the LTZ and Royale models enhances the pleasure of driving the region's most generous car."

Caprice has comprehensive safety systems for crash avoidance and occupant protection, including the new Brake Assist feature to reduce stopping distances by anticipating panic braking situations and applying additional brake pressure, ABS Brakes and Traction Control throughout the range.

For occupant protection Caprice features an energy absorbing front structure, rigid side structure, anti-submarining ramps in front seats, passenger Safety Cell and driver's airbag with optional front passenger and side impact airbags.

The word generous is synonymous with the Chevrolet Caprice: the amount of rear seat legroom for passengers is outstanding - one of the largest in the world. Caprice has more than four decades of tradition in the Middle East, and with every model year it further endears itself to Middle East customers.

"We are confident that with these new enhancements we will see a continuation of the region's love affair with Caprice," says Probert. "In 2005, Caprice will once more offer a unique combination of raw power, sophisticated looks, spaciousness, advanced body structure, safety technology and value for money."
