Charting an action-packed course for DSF 2005

All excited about their forthcoming 10th enthralling festival, the Organising Committee members of DSF 2005 met in full strength at the Dubai Police Club to hammer out their enthusiastic action plan for the shopping and entertainment extravaganza starting from January 12 and running until February 12, 2005.
The CEO presided over the gathering by first assessing the progress of the Festival vis-ŕ-vis its action-packed run for the last nine years and called upon the officials to not to rest on their laurels but to go the extra mile in making this 10th DSF the most memorable one in the long history of the event. "This is a special event for us and we must make sure that it's different from the earlier ones. By all accounts, we have to put up an exceptional 10th festival which will be remembered by people for a long time to come," said Al Nabouda adding, "Our creative and innovative ideas should be put forth for this challenging event which calls for précised planning and a well-calculated approach."
The CEO also informed the gathering that five new Key Sponsors and Patrons have pledged their support to the event making the overall sponsorship total of 24 while registration for the Ideal Arab Mother and Family Awards under the patronage of HH General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister, is now underway at the DSF office. "The last day for receiving applications for this humanitarian award is December 30," he informed.
Ibrahim Saleh laid out the plans encompassing the permanent festival venues like the Heritage & Diving Village, Carpet Oasis, the new Global Village and the main street events taking place on Al Riqqa, Al Muraqqabat and Al Seef promenades while the respective committee members presented their individual course of action plans for the prestigious event.
The meeting was attended by Brig. Mohammed Eid Al Mansouri, Lieutenant-Colonel Ahmed Al Sayk and Major Abdull Khalifa Al Marri of Dubai Police; Captain Omar Al Shamsi of Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department, First Lieutenant Ismail Abdullah and First Lieutenant Mohammed Hassan Al Ahmadi of Dubai Civil Defence; Mohammed Al Fardan, Mohammed Al Noori and Dawood Al Hajiri of Dubai Municipality; Marwan bin Byat of the Dubai Tourism and Marketing Department; Jamal Makki and Malek Sultan Al Malek of the Dubai Media and Internet City; Nuha Mohammed Safar from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Masood Saleh of the Department of Civil Aviation; Abdul Rahman Easa from Dubai Ports, Customs & Free Zone Authority; Engineer Ibrahim Taleb of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority; Mortadha Al Hashmi of the Dubai Educational Zone; Mohammed Halyl Al Murooshdi of the Department of Economic Development; Hala Lootah and Sally Zoreb of the Department of Health and Medical Services.
