One of Lake Geneva's oldest hotels has completed a major transformation to become the Lausanne lakeside's first contemporary property aimed at attracting stylish young travellers from around the globe.
"We know that there is a growing set of young and stylish Arabs who want all the excellent service and quality that a Swiss vacation offers, but who are looking for something ultra stylish and modern as opposed to the traditional grandeur that people come to expect when in the Lake Geneva region," Said Yves Chavaillaz, the hotel's general manager. "Our hotel now offers a totally new experience to those visitors".
The hotel, six-building complex, has undergone a careful renovation process over the past five years and culminating in this month's completion of the final building.
The Lutetia building, which was originally a ladies' boarding school when it opened in1803, now offers a thoroughly contemporary interior which embraces some of the building's interesting, original architectural features. Guests will also be able to enjoy the latest in-room technologies to complete the modern hotel experience.
With the addition of the 14 rooms and suites in the Lutetia building, the Hotel Angleterre & Residence offers a total of 75 rooms and suites all offering discrete accommodation with lake and garden views.
The hotel also has a contemporary Italian restaurant and outdoor pool, and affords all guests the use of health and beauty facilities as well as exquisite restaurants at neighbouring sister hotel, Beau-Rivage Palace.
