  • PRESS RELEASE

Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT company, has announced a year-on-year growth of 15 per cent in revenues and 60 per cent in profits in the half-year financial results for the fiscal year 2004.

This is the first time ever that the company delivered revenue growth in the first half of a fiscal year. The results were announced by the company's President and CEO, Bernd Bischoff, at VISIT 2004 European IT Forum held in Germany last week.

The company, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary, announced a revenue of € 2,560* million while profit before tax stood at €18* million, according to preliminary reports, for the first-half of the 2004/2005 fiscal year which runs from April 2004 to September 2004.

"We have shown healthy revenue and profit growth, and our company continues to outperform the market. We are nevertheless aware that competition remains very tough and that we always need to go the extra mile for our customers", said Bernd Bischoff. "We have learned over the past five years that to be successful, innovation must be driven by customer requirements."

During the first half of the current fiscal year, FSC recorded a 32* percent in unit volume growth year-on-year. Based on the calendar year for the last two quarters the company also outgrew the market in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) by 8 percent, according to IDC 1st quarter and 2nd quarter figures, surpassing its targets.

"The industry-beating performance in the first half of the fiscal year once again demonstrates the success of Fujitsu Siemens Computers' strategy focus on mobility and business critical computing," said Habib Bouchrara, Vice President, International Sales, Middle East and Africa, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "The strong results will serve to reinforce the trust of customers and resellers in our products in the region where we have seen a dramatic growth over the past few months. We remain strongly committed to bringing the latest products to our loyal customers in the region."

For the remainder of the fiscal year, Fujitsu Siemens Computers are targeting a 5 percent revenue growth and to continue to outgrow the market by at least 5 percent. The company's primary growth areas have been identified as mobiles, servers, and supporting services.
