- PRESS RELEASE
The Australian Pavilion will be showcased for the very first time at Global Village 2005 in Dubai.
The very first Australian Pavilion will be spread across an area of 1000 square meters, which will feature unique arts and crafts and many other products sourced from Australia. The Pavilion aims to present a window to Australia's rich tradition and culture, to the 5000 Australian residents living in Dubai as well as to international visitors who visit Dubai during the Dubai Shopping Festival. At Global Village 2005 the Australian Pavilion will also have the Real-estate, Property Investment and Education exhibitors.
Australia is the sixth largest nation after Russia, Canada, China, the United States of America and Brazil. It has, however, a relatively small population. Australia has a remarkable diversity of life seen nowhere else in the world. The country has had one of the most outstanding economies of the world in recent years. As a high-growth, low-inflation, low interest rate economy, it is more vibrant than ever before. There is an efficient government sector, a flexible labour market and a very competitive business sector. With its abundant physical resources, Australia has enjoyed a high standard of living since the nineteenth century. This initiative at the Global Village is one of Australian government's many initiatives to position the nation more closely to the gulf markets.
Said Mr. Sunil Bhatia, CEO E4 Entertainment, "We are proud to be organizing the first Australian Pavilion at the Global Village 2005. We have been associated with the Global Village since it was conceptualized. It is the consistent effort not only of our in-house team but also through the support of the AUSTRADE and the Australian Consulate that the concept is moving ahead."
"The exhibitors will definitely benefit from this extensive promotion," said Mr. Bhatia. "This is the right platform to showcase products especially for those exhibitors who are entering the market for the first time. The Global Village is also an attractive retail location and has been known to have the highest sales of any shopping venues during the Dubai Shopping Festival."
The concept 'Global Village' over the past decade has given Dubai a truly international essence. The Global Village plays host to over 46 countries and still year after year they come out with a bigger, newer and better location. The Global Village 2005 will showcase products ranging from traditional household items to furniture, foodstuff, garments, antiques, jewelry, education and universities, handicrafts and gift items amongst many other products, throughout the extended period of 79 days.
The Global Village has seen great success since it has been launched in 1996 and throughout the following years, establishing a unique tourist destination that is sought by visitors from all over the world. The Global Village will include more than 45 pavilions and will have a food court with more than 50 restaurants and 4 main cafés. It will also have more than 75 kiosks for the retail sector. A unique feature of the coming event will be an amphitheatre with a capacity to accommodate an audience of more than 6000 and for the first time a manmade lake with a total area of 4000 sq.mt.
The Global Village 2005 is at a new location, which is at Dubailand, along the Emirates Road. The venue, which earlier was a 7.5 million sq. ft. project, will now stand on a whopping 17.2 million sq. ft. area. The magic of Global Village will now be recreated at Dubailand, which is intended to be the ultimate leisure, entertainment and tourism destination of this region, which will take place from January 12th to March 31st 2005.
