More than 160 local and international companies are expected to participate in this unique and specialised event.
The second edition is being held after the resounding success achieved during the event's first edition. 'CONSTRUCT-light+building' Exhibition & Conference 2003 formed an ideal platform for companies to spread and enhance their activities in the regional real estate market, which has recently been witnessing an unprecedented amount of investments.
'CONSTRUCT-light+building 2005' is considered a very unique and specialised event and is the first event of its kind in the region that brings together four significant sectors in the market under one roof; building materials, technical finishing, IT engineering, and the newly introduced sector - Maintenance.
The General Exhibitions Corporation (GEC) & Messe Frankfurt expect around 160 local and international exhibitors to present products and services from the following segments spreading over 5,000 sqm of indoor exhibition space; structural work and renovation, roof, façade, interior work, sanitation, air-conditioning and ventilation technology, electrical engineering, house and building automation, lighting technology, lamps and luminaries, escalators and lifts, measuring and control technology, CAD software and other construction-related information software.
The organisers anticipate around 3,000 trade & professional visitors to visit CONSTRUCT-light+building 2005, from the Arabian states and neighbouring countries. The most important target groups being; planners, investors, property managers, authorities of public facilities, architects, engineers, electrical engineers, electricians, sanitary technicians, ventilation and air-conditioning technicians, interior designers, importers, wholesalers, chain stores, retailers and skilled trade.
'CONSTRUCT-light+building 2005' Exhibition and Conference is being held to coincide with the tremendous success that's currently sweeping across the construction industry in the UAE specifically and the Gulf in general. Success that stems from a solid economic performance.
The United Arab Emirates is witnessing increased investment activity in the real estate sector. It is worth mentioning that the total cost of commercial and residential projects in the United Arab Emirates over the next 5 years is estimated at Dhs. 200 billion. Also, the total cost of the real estate projects of the Social Services & Commercial Building Department in Abu Dhabi received over Dhs. 35 billion by the end of 2003.
Simultaneously, the department has given the green light to start financing the construction of more than 100 buildings in Abu Dhabi for this year, with a total cost estimated at Dhs. 1.7 billion. These facts reflect the continuous development of the UAE real estate sector, and in turn the increase of demand on building materials and technical finishing and related products.
After extensive market research and analysing the results of 2003, the organisers have decided to include a new sector to this year's event - the Maintenance sector. Repair technologies, restoration technologies, and many other maintenance services will form part of the event under the new Maintenance sector.
Along with the exhibition, an international conference is being held highlighting the theoretical background and practical solutions for the 'Integrated Planning Concept'. This unique concept aims at gathering architects and engineers from the very beginning of the planning process.
The fusion of this design and technical systems from the start leads inevitably to an optimum utilisation of usable space, energy consumption and user comfort. Also, building safety and maintenance must be part of the core planning process.
Based on the philosophy of 'integrated planning', 'CONSTRUCT-light+building 2005' Conference is a forum for engineers and technical planners, providing extensive information on new systems and concepts, materials, equipment and even building planning software.
'CONSTRUCT-light+building 2003' Exhibition & Conference served as a platform for more than 92 companies to promote their talents and expertise. Spread over 4,000 sqm, the exhibition witnessed an impressive turnout of over 1,500 decision-makers, from 24 countries.
More than 160 local and international companies expected to participate in 'CONSTRUCT-light+building'
The second edition of 'CONSTRUCT-light+building' Exhibition & Conference 2005 is to be organised by the General Exhibitions Corporation and Messe Frankfurt at Abu Dhabi International Exhibition and Conference Centre from 10th-13th April 2005.
