  • PRESS RELEASE

Gearing up for future demands on their networking and security infrastructure, Emirates Media Incorporated (EMI), a pioneer media organization headquartered in Abu Dhabi, has awarded a five year consulting, design and network implementation contract to Seven Seas.

The scope of work includes connecting two campuses - the Ittihad campus and the Abu Dhabi Radio, Abu Dhabi TV campus - using FastIron800 series switches from Foundry Networks. A resilient fibre backbone will connect the campuses and the infrastructure will be fully redundant. Seven Seas will design the Security Architecture, Policies and implement a Firewall Strategy which will help EMI secure their internal IT infrastructure. A site-to-site VPN will be implemented to connect users from the Dubai branch to the Abu Dhabi head office. A content filtering solution from SurfControl and a bandwidth management / optimization solution from Exinda Networks will be implemented to ease the internet traffic to and from the Dubai Office.

"We were searching for a partner to provide an integrated solution tailored to the EMI environment. We awarded Seven Seas, who are without doubt among the best systems integrators in the UAE, because of their technical capabilities and their service and support record. We run our operations on a 24x7 hours basis and we wanted an organization that is capable of providing support round the clock. Seven Seas are an ITIL compliant, ISO 9001:2000 certified organization and they have clear processes and helpdesk tools to manage support and services to their vast customer base. With Seven Seas, we are confident that we can be assured of quality from consulting, through implementation and maintenance." said Mr. Derek Holland, IT head of EMI.

"We are happy to be the chosen for this project. As a response to the increasing demand in the UAE marketplace, we have made investments in expanding and strengthening our networking and security team over the last two years. EMI's exploding multi-media traffic on its networks places tremendous challenges in network and security design for which our team has won their confidence." Says Mehboob Hamza, Director - Strategy & Intellectual Assets, Seven Seas. "We have emphasized the quality of our service management practices and our being both ITIL compliant with ISO 9001:2000 certification instills confidence in our clients. Our quality services and support team, who are our ambassadors in the field, differentiates us from our competition."
