  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, April 10 - 2002 at 11:06
  • PRESS RELEASE

Following rapid expansion in the Gulf over the past two years, Hilton International celebrated the opening of their new regional headquarters at the Dubai Internet City with a VIP ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Khaled Bin Sulayem, Director General of Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).

The new office, which has been relocated from the Arenco Building in Dubai, forms the Hilton Regional Sales and Marketing headquarters for the Arabian Gulf. It will house the Hilton Worldwide Reservations Centre, Hilton HHonors™ management office, and the international and regional sales and marketing team. In addition, a new Hilton HHonors Middle East Service Centre will also be based there to service the 83,000 members in the Middle East.

Hilton International's Vice President for Operations in the Arabian Gulf, Rudi Jagersbacher, said: "This move represents our strong commitment to the region as we continue to drive our expansion plans across the Gulf. Through the new office we will be able to take advantage of the excellent facilities provided by the DIC and offer better services to our customers and Hilton HHonors members in the region."

Whilst visiting the new office, Khalid Bin Sulayem, Director General, Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing, said: "I am personally very honoured to be here today to demonstrate the importance the Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing and Hilton International places on the continued development of the UAE's tourism and hotel industry."

"Hilton International has developed a solid heritage over 20 years in Dubai and I am happy to see this growth continue and wish them all the success for the future " he added.

Hilton International will use the new facilities to implement further e-initiatives across the group and to simplify booking processes that will benefit Hilton customers regionally and worldwide. Members of Hilton HHonors can access a dedicated Middle East Call Center based in the DIC through regional toll free numbers. Both of the Hilton HHonors and Hilton Worldwide Reservations Centre provide information in English and Arabic for customers in the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt.

Rudi Jagersbacher added: "With a dedicated team based here in DIC we can access the latest technological advances and ensure a more innovative approach to customer care. We are fully committed to simplifying procedures and taking customer services and marketing to the next level."

The Hilton HHonors Loyalty Programme has been in operation since 1987 and now has over 10.5 million members worldwide and a total of 83,000 members in the Middle East. Hilton HHonors is unique in that it is the only loyalty program with Double Dipping formula whereby members can collect points by staying at any Hilton hotel and at the same time collect miles on their membership card of any of the airline partners' loyalty programs - thereby collecting both miles and points for the same stay.
