VERITAS enhances offering with i 7.0 Application Performance Management Software
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, October 30 - 2004 at 10:05
- PRESS RELEASE
VERITAS Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS) today announced the immediate regional availability of the next generation of its VERITAS i suite of application performance management software.
"VERITAS i3 software enables IT administrators to proactively detect and correct application performance and availability problems before they begin to impact business operations," said Mark Bregman, chief technology officer, VERITAS. "Current users of VERITAS i3 are now able to come closer to achieving a complete utility computing model with integrated software solutions that increase the availability, performance and automation of the systems and applications running across their datacenters."
The integration of VERITAS i3 7.0 software with other key VERITAS utility computing technologies—VERITAS Storage Foundation™, VERITAS Cluster Server, and VERITAS Volume Manager Software— also benefits customers in two complementary ways. First, integrating deep file system and volume management metrics into the capabilities of VERITAS ił software provides an unprecedented level of insight into user-to-storage performance management. Second, integrating application failure alerts from VERITAS Cluster Server as an input to VERITAS ił provides a comprehensive performance and availability solution to better manage application service levels.
VERITAS ił 7.0 software also features more granular correlation capability for each individual application transaction from client to storage. This greater visibility into application performance and usage patterns can then be used to support business efficiencies through enhanced management of asset utilization, application usage and cost allocation. Other new features include the ability for users to track an unlimited number of customer-defined service level agreement metrics and a streamlined install process for faster deployment.
"Information systems are an integral part of today's businesses. If your system performs poorly this is reflected in overall performance of your organization and is likely to lead to poor customer perception. In the Middle East, companies recognize the need for programs that address system uptime and user response time and VERITAS' ił suite of application performance management software is designed to deliver all that and more," said Sam Tayan, regional manager, VERITAS Middle East.
