- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, October 30 - 2004 at 12:57
- PRESS RELEASE
Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) has announced the launch of a radio contest to increase awareness of the new toll free service 'Alphanumeric Dialing'.
With the launch of the new toll free service, businesses can have their name representing their toll free contact number. The sponsors that have signed up for the contest include 800-SAMSUNG, Rotana Hotels (800-ROTANA), Al Fardan Exchange (800-AFEX), Syscom Emirates (800-SYSCOM) and US Robotics (800-USRME).
Mohammed Al Fahim, Etisalat's Executive Vice President of Marketing, said: "This radio campaign clarifies to the public how to use the numbers. Anyone who is familiar with the letters marked on the telephone keypad would easily be able to spell every word with its corresponding numbers."
On 104.8FM (English) as well as 89.1FM (Urdu), the contests will be broadcast between 1pm and 3pm and there will be two more contests after 8pm. On Emarat FM (Arabic), the contests will be between 8pm and midnight.
With three contests a day on each station, there will be nine winners a day selected, and with the competition running every weekday for two weeks there will be a total of 90 winners by the end of the campaign.
This fun and rewarding way of learning the correct way to use the new Toll Free service will familiarize the public with the new alphanumeric dialing. As the public becomes more familiar with the service, businesses too will be eager to upgrade from their existing numbers to this new concept, with all its benefits as a dependable nation wide tool for sales and marketing.
