  • PRESS RELEASE

CNNArabic.com has launched a print consumer campaign promoting its positioning as the website of record on the global and more specifically regional implications of the November 2 vote.

The campaign features in Arabic and English language publications across the Arab Middle East, chosen to reach a key part of CNN's target audience, the business decision maker.

"This is the first consumer campaign we've done in this market for the U.S elections. It is part of our ongoing commitment as a brand to get closer to our audience, and to reflect CNNArabic.com as the website of record on events of international significance, for our Arabic speaking users " said Claudia Coles, Head of Marketing for CNN Europe/Middle East/Africa.

CNNArabic.com will have a special US elections' section (http://arabic.cnn.com/us.elections), which will offer in-depth analysis on the two candidates; to what extent Arab related issues are included in their campaign and the implications of Iraq. Amongst other stories will be an in-depth look at a poll carried out by the Arab-American institution on the elections. The section will also include CNNArabic.com's own poll asking which of the two candidates would better serve Arab causes.

The US elections campaign will be followed by a more generic CNNArabic.com print and spot television advertising initiative, drawing attention to the website as a whole as the destination of record for global news and information specifically for a Middle Eastern audience in Arabic.

The campaign, in Al Hayat, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Gulf Marketing Review, Middle East Economic Digest (MEED), Iktisaad Wal Aamal, Arab News, Al Eqtisadiah, Al Majalla and Arrajol, is CNN's most extensive topical campaign for CNNArabic.com this year.

CNN worked on the campaign with creative agency TBWA/RAAD and media buying agency Mediacom.
