The GM Online Parts Locator, which went live last week, will provide the auto manufacturers' 50 plus Retailers and Wholesale Distributors with instant access to a vast on-line database of parts, allowing them to respond more swiftly and efficiently to every customer's specific needs.

"The GM Online Parts Locator enables authorized users to search, request, purchase and exchange parts with other Retailers and Wholesale Distributors within the region," explains Glenn Heller, Regional Sales & Marketing Manager for Aftersales, General Motors. "One of the main aims of this initiative is to further enhance customer satisfaction through increased availability of parts and reduced vehicle repair times."

The easy to use, data security assured system, also provides retailers with major business benefits, such as the ability to significantly reduce slow-moving and obsolete parts, while improving workshop productivity.

Available 24x7, retailers and wholesale distributors upload their parts inventories on a weekly basis. Users are then able to go on-line, using a unique user name and password and locate a specific part, which may show up at one or more locations. Once found and the source selected, the system automatically generates a request that is sent to the retailer/wholesale distributor with the part in stock.

"With the introduction of the General Motors Middle East Distribution Center in Jebal Ali, UAE just over 1 year ago, the introduction of the GM Parts Locator website further helps to ensure the that we continue to provide the best possible parts availability throughout the region," says Heller.
