In today's highly competitive corporate world, working professionals are keen to upgrade their skills and qualifications like never before. SP Jain Center of Management, a business school that offers intensive business management programs, both for working executives as well as full-time students, recently sought applications for its second Executive MBA batch of sixty and was overwhelmed by the response.

SP Jain Center of Management, located at Knowledge Village, Dubai has a legacy of being at the cutting edge of management education. Its parent campus, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), ranked seventh by Asia Inc., the Singapore based business magazine, and India's top business school for job placements, has been constantly innovating not just the curriculum and pedagogy but also the methodologies employed in imparting business education. These advancements are now available at SP Jain's Dubai campus for the region's business management aspirants to benefit from.

Although there is no substitute for a full-time education, offered by SPJCM through the region's first full-time residential business management program, working executives all over the world are finding it absolutely essential to upgrade both their skills and qualification to remain ahead in the corporate world, without having to give up their jobs. To address this need, several Executive MBA (EMBA) formats are offered to the aspirants.

Again, SPJCM has come up with two unique formats for their EMBA program. The first one is the '2-week on, 2-week off' format where students study during evenings for 2 weeks and are off for 2 weeks. The rationale behind this format is unique: Working executives invariably never travel for work for more than 2 weeks at a stretch. Using this format, students never have to miss even a single class. Experience has proven this format to be very effective. The second format is the weekend format, which is very useful for students coming in from neighboring Emirates, who can attend classes only on weekends. Further state of art technology at SPJCM ensures that lectures are recorded live and made available to students to enhance their learning experience.

"Although there are a number of EMBA and distance learning programs on offer, ours is probably the richest in the region," said Nitish Jain, President of SPJCM. "I can say this confidently because of several factors that set us apart. First and foremost, we employ the most diverse international faculty available, with professors traveling from all over the world to teach at our campus here in Dubai. Secondly, the industry interaction our students go through during the program is unparalleled. Couple this with the latest classroom technologies such as video conferencing, wireless connectivity and live recording of lectures; this is an EMBA program any world-class business school will be proud of."

The 2nd EMBA batch kicks off
During a rousing orientation ceremony held recently at SPJCM's campus, students underwent an intensive 3-hour program which included a candle-lit prayer, addresses by Nitish Jain, President, SPJCM, Dr. Ashok Ullal,. Dean of Academic Affairs and Prof.A.Christopher, Vice President, Business Development. Briefing the students on the global trends in Executive management education, Dr. Ullal underlined the need for a no-compromise approach that the students will need to acquire to maximize the benefits of this program. "You will gain only as much as you strive during this program," he said. "This is a great opportunity for all of you here. Make the most of it."

The students in the 2nd EMBA batch at SPJCM come from rich and diverse backgrounds. Working in companies ranging from multinationals such as Ogilvy & Mather, HSBC, Halliburton and KPMG to regional powerhouses such as the Al Futtaim Group and Jumeirah International, the class spans students from start-up careers to senior management professionals.
