FlipCast goes celluloid with The Emirates Network (TEN)
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, November 08 - 2004 at 10:26
- PRESS RELEASE
Broadband users visiting the popular Middle Eastern movie portal, TEN Movies http://movies.tenuae.com, can now view full-length, high-quality trailers on the portal.
"With an online platform and browser independent media player such as FlipCast, it's made it easier for us to take the step forward and provide broadband users of TEN Movies with high quality video trailers that are 20-50 percentage smaller than their equivalent QuickTime trailers," says Yousuf Philips, CEO, TheEmiratesNetwork.com, explaining why FlipCast was his ideal choice for the broadband trailer service.
"The response to the trailer facility has been well received by visitors of TEN Movies, as all they needed to watch the trailers is an Internet connection and a browser. One of the most complemented features in the FlipCast media player is its full-screen option," said Ibrahim Hussein, Operations Manager, TEN Movies.
Martin Diessner, CEO, Flip Media explains, "Having your browser playing a video when pressing the 'Play' button without being asked to install additional components or making a selection of bandwidth options that the typical Internet user does not understand, is one of the key advantages of FlipCast over competing players. Besides user-friendliness, FlipCast's ability to stream TV commercials is a plus for marketers who choose FlipCast as the preferred TVC advertising platform in the Middle East region."
The key differentiation of FlipCast to all other players is its platform and browser independency, combined with the high penetration of Flash as the main plug-in used: Macromedia Flash 6 players have so far reached 97% market penetration and the latest version has succeeded with 73% market share globally. This means that FlipCast can be easily and effortlessly viewed by a larger percentage of the region's online population than any other streaming broadband video product.
"We are continuously developing new facilities for the TEN Movies, and in order to better cater to our Middle Eastern audience, we are in the process of launching an Arabic version of TEN," commented Ahmed Mustafa, Assistant Operations Manager, TEN Movies.
