ARAMEX International Limited invests AED 20 million in Jebel Ali logistics facility

ARAMEX International Limited (AIL) is investing more than AED 20 million in the development and expansion of its Jebel Ali Logistics Center to serve the increasing demand in the region.
The Jebel Ali expansion is part of the ARAMEX investment program in the regional logistics market, which also includes the establishment of state-of-the-art logistics facilities and the upgrading of existing centers in Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait and Bahrain. A key element of the network development strategy includes the expansion of the AIL logistics center at the New York JFK airport area.
"ARAMEX is expanding its logistics capacity and coverage in many markets. This is a reflection of the growth in the market and the dynamism of ARAMEX in taking timely moves to benefit from emerging trends. This new investment will give us a unique location to serve the accelerated growth of businesses in the Jebel Ali zone," said AIL Vice President For Logistics and Ground Operations Iyad Kamal. He added: "This new Jebel Ali logistics center is one among several state-of-the-art centers we are establishing around the region, including the GCC and Levant."
ARAMEX employs more than 800 people in the United Arab Emirates and the expanded facility at Jebel Ali will lead to the recruitment of more than 100 new logistics professionals.
In addition to the major investment in the UAE, ARAMEX is investing in several new logistics centers in key locations around the region, including a 17,000 square feet logistics center in Cairo and a new center in Jeddah to serve Saudi Arabia along with the existing facility in Riyadh. AIL has also established a new logistics center in the free zone at Beirut Seaport and is doubling the size its logistics facility at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman complementing the existing ARAMEX facilities at Aqaba Free Zone and at Amman Industrial City.
