Yemen ups minimum bank capital

The Central Bank of Yemen has raised the minimum capital for any new bank or affiliate of an international bank working in Yemen to USD30m, reported The Yemen Observer. Central Bank Governor Ahmed Abdul-Rahman Al-Samawi said that banking minimum capital was up five-fold, and that some banks had already increased their capital.
