Deepak Chopra tops bill at Dubai Wellbeing Show

Stars from the world of wellbeing will headline at the region's first Wellbeing Show in Dubai to be staged at the Jumeirah Conference Centre (Jumeirah Beach Hotel) on 26 - 28 January. Organised by Fairs & Exhibitions Ltd, the event promises to enlighten visitors with a daily series of 6-7 major lectures, 10-15 workshops and an exhibition.
The Wellbeing Show will present a host of experts drawn from around the world; arguably the most celebrated of these is Deepak Chopra who was once described by former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev as "one of the most lucid and inspired philosophers of our time". Similar praise was levelled at Chopra by President Bill Clinton who described him as a "pioneer of alternative medicine". The popularity of his books and acclaim as an inspirational mentor has gained him recognition and popularity across the USA, Europe, Asia and in the UAE.
Another highly popular personality to headline at the Wellbeing Show is the world's most successful hypnotherapist, Paul McKenna. His latest best selling book - Change Your Life in Seven Days - remains in the UK's top ten, adding to the hundreds of thousands of books and tapes that have made him one of the most highly sort after celebrity's.
Laughter therapy is the subject of Dr Madan Kataria's presentations, who is popularly known as the "laughing guru from Mumbai". A qualified physician, he enjoys world-wide fame for promoting the correlation between health and laughter.
Astrologer Shelley von Strunckel is included amongst the cast of celebrity experts. Her columns are published worldwide, notably in the UK's Sunday Times, The Times of India and Hong Kong's South China Morning Post, as well as French and British Vogue. She is also widely known in the UAE as result of her column in popular local publication.
For those keen to learn more about wellbeing at home, Hong Kong's own home-grown expert in feng shui, Master Raymond Lo, will be on hand for a series of practical lectures.
Many other international and local experts are featured in the programme. According to Virginia Kern, Chairman of F&E, "it represents the best event imaginable covering complementary health and wellness. Never before has such a high quality programme been produced which serves to underline the immense value it will offer all those who would like to take part."
The show opens to the resonating sound of "International Drumming For Peace" - a demonstration organised by local volunteers under the direction of Julie-Ann Rudge. The Wellbeing Show will open daily between 10AM - 9PM, with a ladies only session on Thursday 27 January. The Friday show opens slightly later at around 1PM. Tickets will be on sale during December onwards.
