The General Assembly approved the financial statements for the past two years and also discussed the Association's accomplishments and future plans.
During the meeting, the IAA Jordan announced its first annual advertising conference that will be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II on February 21 and 22, 2005. The conference will focus creating awareness on global best practices and innovative trends in advertising. The event is expected to attract experts from leading international, regional and local agencies and companies.
This year's General Assembly saw the election of the Board of Directors by acclamation. The General Assembly approved the appointment of Sharif Abukhadra (President), Mustapha Tabbaa (Vice President), Saleem Janini (Treasurer), Zeid Nasser (Secretary General), Ruba Batayneh, Karim Abukhadra and Alaa Al Qassim as members of the Board of Directors for the term 2004 - 2006.
IAA Jordan's re-elected President Sharif Abukhadra said that IAA is, 'a one-of-a-kind strategic partnership which champions the common interests of all the disciplines across the full spectrum of marketing communications - from advertisers to media companies to agencies to direct marketing firms - as well as individual practitioners.'
Abukhadra also said that the objectives of the association is to 'promote the significant role of the industry in national development, to protect freedom and promote responsibility in commercial speech and to promote the industry as credible and well respected on a local and a regional level'
IAA Jordan also aims to attract, educate, train and develop young talent in the industry, create dialogue and a dynamic network of information exchange between members and create goodwill amongst them and plays an active role in developing creative thinking in all aspects of the marketing communications industry.
Previously, IAA Jordan has supported the Jordan Advertising Awards, the Media & Advertising (MAd) Show and participated in or supported several other events that are relevant to the industry. The Association also conducts workshops specific to the advertising and communications fields and has launched awareness campaigns through local medias.

The International Advertising Association in Jordan (IAA Jordan) held its second General Assembly on November 2, 2004 which was attended by the Board of Directors and the members.
