Lost Worlds Exhibition a big success
- Qatar: Wednesday, November 10 - 2004 at 14:08
- PRESS RELEASE
'This is the best exhibition I have ever seen in my life', the words of young Khalid are echoed by many of the visitors who have poured through the doors to the exhibition hall since Lost Worlds opened last month.
Visitors are as impressed by the quality of the exhibits as they are by the standard of presentation. "Everything is so beautiful and the audio tour lets you understand the story behind the exhibits" said Udo from Germany. "The fact that Qatar has organized an exhibition of this quality, proves that it is becoming an increasingly interesting place to visit."
There have been over 4000 school children visiting the exhibition on organized visits with their schools since it opened. "This has been particularly gratifying,"said Khalid Hassan Al Jaber, Natural History Expert at the NCCAH, "as one of the main objectives was to provide the children in Qatar with an opportunity to benefit from a world class learning experience".
The Lost Worlds Exhibition has provided the people of Qatar with an idea of what they can expect from the Council in the future. As part of the cultural and educational development of Qatar, three new Museums of the highest quality are planned to be built along the Corniche. In addition to the Islamic Arts Museum that is already underway (due for completion in 2007), the National Library which will house the new Natural History Museum and a museum of Photography are also planned. These three landmark buildings represent a cultural and educational resource that will be unique in the region.
