Kuwait Hilton Resort GM named as Hotel Manager of the Year
- Kuwait: Tuesday, November 16 - 2004 at 12:42
- PRESS RELEASE
Paul Hutton, general manager of the Hilton Kuwait Resort, has been named as Hotel Manager of the Year 2004 at the fifth annual Worldwide Hospitality Awards dinner, held in Paris recently.
The Worldwide Hospitality Awards were created to give recognition to hotel brand innovations throughout the world. Through a rigorous selection process, the finalists and award winners of each category represent the most outstanding innovations that give creative momentum to the hotel industry.
The awards are presented by an advisory board of industry professionals, created to guarantee the transparency of the competition and to establish the rules for candidate selection. By a system of progressive selection, the jury chose three finalists in each of the ten categories with a final vote to determine the winners.
"Needless to say, I was absolutely thrilled when my name was called," said Hutton. "I was sitting in this beautiful ballroom with famous chefs, managers of some of the world's most renowned hotels, presidents and chief executive officers of all the leading prestige brands and I was happy just to be in their company as one of the three finalists. To win was just...Wow!"
Hutton noted that awards like this, even when they are for the general manager, really recognise the efforts of the entire team.
"It was extremely gratifying when our hotel was recognised by Hilton International Middle East, Asia Pacific earlier this year. The team was justifiably proud to be identified as the best Hilton in our region. They should be equally proud of the recognition that comes with this award, because I could not be the Worldwide Hospitality Award General Manager of the Year without a world class team behind me."
