- PRESS RELEASE
Samsung Electronics, the regional and global leader in digital convergence technology, recently offered an interactive digital-convergence experience to visitors at its Global Roadshow 2004, which recently took place in China's Shanghai Science and Technology Museum.
Under the theme "Creating the Future Together," the Global Roadshow 2004 showcased the entire breadth of Samsung's digital offering and demonstrated the company's latest mobile handsets, digital TVs, home entertainment systems and other examples of design-led technologically innovative products.
In the keynote speech of the show, Mr. Jong-Yong Yun, Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics, said: The 21st century has heralded the arrival of the two-way video communication age, and this will bring about a profound change in the way people connect with each other."
"In the future, the electronics industry's business will expand to areas more closely related to our everyday lives. For example, people will be able to check on traffic conditions through video screens before they leave for work, and in emergencies, they will be able to quickly react to unanticipated situations by transmitting video information to medical experts," Mr. Yun added.
Mr. B. W. Lee, President and CEO, Samsung Middle East and Africa said: "At the global roadshow our Vice-Chairman heralded a new era of the two-way video communication age. In this new communication age, we will no longer be constrained by voice or data, but will live in a converged world where voice, data and video work together to offer consumers the ultimate digital experience. At Samsung, we hope that consumers in Middle East will embrace the next stage in our information revolution, which will be in line with our global theme of 'Creating the future together'."
