British University in Dubai offers 20 new scholarships to students
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, November 18 - 2004 at 10:38
- PRESS RELEASE
The British University in Dubai (BUiD), the Middle East's first research-based university for post-graduate education, is offering 20 scholarships for well qualified Masters students for its Information Technology, Project Management and Education programmes.
Commenting on the announcement, David J. Lock, Registrar and Acting Chief Executive of BUiD, said: "The scholarships will cover 50% of all tuition fees and will be awarded to high achieving, well qualified students who might not otherwise be able to study for a Masters programme. Students who apply for a Masters programme and receive an offer of place at BUiD will be eligible to apply for a scholarship.
"It is important that we support the ambitions of our high caliber applicants. The scholarship programme provides substantial funding and awards will be made to those who can demonstrate their academic qualities and show that they can contribute something to BUiD and the Emirates in return."
The decision to award scholarships to students will be based on merit and the financial situation of the applicant.
To apply for a masters programme at BUiD, students can use an application form on the BUiD website at www.buid.ac.ae. When they have received an offer of a place they will be invited to apply for a BUiD Scholarship.
The deadline for scholarship applications is 5th January 2005. The semester begins on 25th January.
