Currently the most compact SCSI server blade worldwide, the new blade is an ideal platform for power-hungry enterprise applications due to its high performance and flexibility.

The new PRIMERGY BX600 Server Blade addresses the needs of modern corporate data centers and Internet or application service providers. With an installation of up to 30 4-way servers in a 46-unit 19-inch rack, IT managers can use the optimal floor space in their data centres. Additional features include reliability and redundant components, as well as easy and effective administration. The PRIMERGY Server Management Suite, included with delivery, ensures trouble-free system installation and configuration.

"With the launch of our new 4-way server blade, Fujitsu Siemens Computers now has the most diverse blade portfolio on the market, from the footprint-optimized BX300 Blade Server to the performance-optimized 4-way blade in our BX600 blade server," said Ashraf El-Arabaty, Product Marketing Manager, Enterprise Solutions, Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "This will help our customers to apply the blade architecture for most of their server environments and spread its benefits throughout the data center. This will further consolidate our position in the server segment in the Middle East, where our major customers are on the lookout for high-performance servers to get an extra competitive edge in a global environment."

Fujitsu Siemens Computers has already successfully implemented solutions for a variety of customer projects, often involving complex storage demands. The South African Department of Labour has recently adopted the new blade technology and is currently operating 313 BX600 blade servers (2-way), which are distributed across the entire country.

AMS BG, Austria's leading IT service provider is currently testing the BX600 Blade Server for use as an e-mail server. Earlier tests demonstrated its flexibility and scalability and as soon as the test phase is completed, the BX600 Blade Server will go live throughout the country.

The new 4-way variant of the BX600 offers complete blade server solutions for load-balanced server farms, flexible e-mail server infrastructures, modern multi-tier ERP solutions, efficient consolidation platforms based on virtual machine concepts, powerful database servers and reliable infrastructure servers.
