MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) announces the launch of its first Full Prepaid Roaming Service with MTC-Vodafone (Kuwait).
Khaled Al Farkh, MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain)'s Chief Operating Officer, declared: 'MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) is staying at the forefront of mobile data transfer: eleven months ago MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) was the first Middle East telecommunications operator to launch a 3G network and provide nation wide EDGE coverage, and is now once again in a pioneering position, providing prepaid customers with international access to enable calls and SMS service.'
MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) is the only Bahraini mobile operator to provide its eeZee prepaid customers with such unique roaming facilities. Whereas earlier, MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) prepaid customers could only receive calls and SMS while traveling outside the country. With this launch, all MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain)'s eeZee prepaid services customer, when in Kuwait, can now make and receive calls and send and receive SMS. eeZee prepaid customers traveling to other countries can send and receive SMS. The launch of this new service marks once again MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain)'s commitment and passion to its customers by anticipating and fulfilling their needs with innovative and quality services.
'MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain)'s customers who are traveling to Kuwait can receive and make calls, receive and send SMS. These new capabilities have a reassuring effect on MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain)'s customers: they now know that they can phone home spontaneously from Kuwait and keep in touch with family members and friends,' explained Al Farkh. 'In our first year in business, we have signed roaming agreements with over 126 wireless carriers allowing its customers to receive and make calls in 73 countries around the globe. We also have 3G roaming services with Japan,' he added.
The advantages of having a prepaid account are extended for roaming calls. Customers can make and receive calls and send and receive SMS while they are charged from their prepaid balance. MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain)'s customers are now able to make credit inquiries and upload their accounts. The roaming solution for prepaid customers is based on CAMEL technology. The CAMEL (Customized Application for Mobile Network Enhanced Logic) technology enables homogeneous Intelligent Network services to be provided over multiple GSM networks.
MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain)'s network supports the latest in wireless technology for the first time in the Middle East for its customers in Bahrain, providing them with nation wide EDGE network and a 3G network available in the busiest areas of the kingdom, which will expand to cover the whole island within the next couple of months. This state-of-the-art network, has enabled MTC-Vodafone (Bahrain) to continuously develop and innovate new services and features to meet customers demand for a new experience in mobile communications.
