CNS certified as Authorised Hypercom Repair Centre
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, November 23 - 2004 at 10:05
- PRESS RELEASE
Leading UAE based system integrator, Computer Network Systems (CNS), announced today that it has been given certification by Hypercom, a leading global provider of electronic payment solutions, to become a chip-and-board level repair centre for Hypercom Point Of Sale (POS) terminals.
"Our customers will now benefit from a truly value-added service through CNS' fully equipped in-house support centre. The best advantage is the reduction in service turnaround time," said Nicolas Barakat, Banking and Finance Business Unit Manager, CNS.
"Today, there is no need to send any terminals to Hypercom head office in the UK. All board-and-chip level service and maintenance operations will now be implemented here in the UAE. This is an outstanding achievement by CNS and is another step in strengthening the position of CNS as the leading solutions provider for the banking segment."
"With the increasing volume of Hypercom terminals in operations in the UAE market, it was only logical to invest in a local partner that we can rely on," said Brian Stobo, Vice President Middle East and Africa Region, Hypercom Middle East. "In step with the UAE's growing shift from paper-based to electronic transactions, more individuals are now relying on electronic transactions for their daily financial requirements. This has been evident through the growth of our POS terminals business in the UAE and across the region".
Mr. Stobo added that with the increase in Hypercom business in the region, the company must maintain its promise of top service and support levels through Hypercom's local partners.
Through the CNS Hypercom Repair Centre, customers will be offered reliable after-sales support to Hypercom POS terminals in the UAE. This move will enable CNS and Hypercom to provide a complete cycle of services to their customers in a time efficient and cost effective manner.
With yearly intensive training courses, Hypercom will focus on training CNS support staff to provide technical support to various terminal types available in the UAE market. Through a collaborative partnership, the centre may also service other markets in the GCC area.
"Hypercom's presence in the region continues to grow. The expansion of our infrastructure and support of our representatives and customers is a key aspect of this growth" said Aiman Mazahreh, Executive Director STS Jordan, Hypercom's Master Distributor in the Middle East.
Recognized worldwide as the global payment technology innovator, Hypercom terminals support a wide range of value-added applications and services, such as on-screen advertising and customer-pole displays, in addition to secure credit and debit, Mastercard and Visa (EMV) smart card functions.
