'The constantly expanding and developing nature of the Middle East region means that it is of vital strategic importance to us,' said Peter Rothnie, Marketing Manager of Osram Middle East. 'Middle East Electricity is the one event in the region that delivers serious, focused business potential - having recognised this, we view it as a key part of our marketing plans, hence our continued and expanded support in 2005.'

The unique depth and focus of Middle East Electricity is the result of extensive on-going research and the close relationships that the organisers, IIR Exhibitions, have established with key Governmental, industry and business partners throughout the world.

'The consistent high level of support that Middle East Electricity receives from world leading organisations like Osram is proof of the international credibility and reputation of the event - its success is a direct result of our commitment to continually develop it in line with the needs of the region, the business objectives of exhibitors and the specific requirements of visitors' said Sarah Woodbridge, Exhibitions Director, IIR Exhibitions Middle East.

Established in 1919, Osram has developed from a classical light bulb manufacturer into a high-tech company in the lighting industry, and is today one of the world leaders in lighting technology. Headquartered in Munich, Germany, global sales in 2003 exceeded €4 billion, and the organisation has over 35,000 employees worldwide and 54 plants in 18 countries. Looking forwards, the strongest growth is expected to come from innovative products, specifically in the electronics field.

'We know that our future growth will come from continued product innovation' added Rothnie, 'that's why we commit such a high level of investment into research and development - last year this amounted to 5% of our global sales.'

'Another area of increasing potential is that of the 'healthy' office,' added Rothnie. 'It is a proven fact that a healthy working environment results in greater staff productivity and effectiveness, and progressive companies are recognising this and taking steps to ensure that they are providing an optimum working environment.'

'For example, we recently assessed IIR Middle East's offices in Dubai and subsequently carried out a full re-installation of their main office lighting - the staff greatly appreciated the improvement this made to their workplace.'

Osram is one of the many prestigious international companies that will showcase their latest product developments and innovations at Middle East Electricity in 2005 - the high quality audience will, as always, include the region's senior decision makers, who acknowledge it as the only significant industry event in the Middle East.

The 30th Middle East Electricity Exhibition and Conference will be held from the 6th to 9th March 2005 at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre. Already 90% full, there is intense demand for the remaining floor space and sponsorship opportunities available.
