Etisalat's business unit eCompany that provides Internet Services in the UAE confirmed that there was no service outage. However users would be experiencing slower access to sites hosted outside the UAE.

The redundant links meant for just an eventuality have ensured the uninterrupted working of the country's Internet services. The heavy investment by Etisalat in building a robust network with redundant links to major global Internet hubs has ensured that the traffic can be re-routed, ensuring that the Internet can remain operational.

Etisalat engineers are working round-the-clock to ensure that the effect to business communication and other critical Internet related functions is negligible. In addition, work is being conducted in coordination with international authorities in order to restore the service to normal levels of efficiency and find alternative routes as soon as possible.
