BNP Paribas senior foreign exchange strategists to visit Bahrain

As part of a tour of the Gulf Region, two senior foreign exchange strategists of BNP Paribas, Global Head of Foreign Exchange Strategy, Hans Redeker, and Fabrice Famery, Head of BNP's Transaction Advisory Group, will be visiting Bahrain to provide their clients with presentations on current currency concerns.

The talks, which will be for invited guests, will take place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, on 1st December 2004.

A presentation entitled 'From Yield to Value Currency Trends during Monetary Tightening Trends' will be presented by Mr.Redeker and 'Innovative FX solutions cope with Uncertainty' by Mr. Famery.

In his presentation, Mr. Redeker will focus on economic factors and give a technical analysis of the market fundamentals affecting the movement of the major currencies at the moment.

Mr. Famery, however, will focus on foreign exchange solutions for investors searching for a high return in an uncertain market environment. He will also present some of BNP Paribas' investment products aimed at boosting return on deposits and managing currency risk.

Mr. Redeker is the Global Head of Foreign Exchange Strategy at BNP Paribas, London which encompasses all major and emerging markets fundamental and technical research. Prior to joining BNP Paribas he was the Senior International Economist at Chase Manhattan Bank, London. In addition, he is a regular contributor to various leading news publications, including Wall Street Journal and Financial Times, and appears frequently on prominent news channels such as CNN, BBC, CNBC and Bloomberg TV.

Mr. Famery is head of Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) at BNP Paribas focusing on structured Foreigh Exchange (FX )solutions for corporates and investors. TAG develops customised hedging solutions and FX linked investments to beat low yields and diversify risk. Mr Famery also advises clients on FX asset and liability management and optimised accounting driven FX solutions. He joined BNP Paribas in 1996, and has been a successively proprietary trader and FX derivatives marketer since then.

BNP Paribas, which has resident expertise in the fields of Trade Finance, Private Banking, Investment Banking, Asset Management, Project/ Structured Finance, Equity Derivatives, Treasury Management and Islamic Banking, has been operating in the Gulf for over 30 years. It operates through a network of 4 commercial branches (Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha and Dubai), serving the needs of institutional, corporate and individual clients in the GCC. The bank is continuing its expansion in the region and will soon be opening branches in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait.

In Bahrain, the BNP Paribas has been closely associated with financing the trade flows within the region and has been at the forefront in introducing trade and treasury solutions to its clients. The bank has also launched individual banking services targeted towards investment products as well as core banking services.
