Hertz UAE - fastest growing for Hertz EMEA

Hertz UAE has been recognised as one of the fastest growing franchises in Europe, Middle East and Africa at the Hertz International Franchisee Conference held recently in Athens, Greece.

The UAE's franchise owned by the Al Futtaim Group was up against representatives from over 80 other countries.

Of the award presented to Bob Farrow, General Manager, Hertz UAE, Michel Taride, President, Hertz Europe said: 'Hertz UAE has been growing at a phenomenal rate, mirroring the growth of the country as a major hub for business and leisure in the region. This success, suggests even better times are ahead for the company and for the UAE as a destination.'

Hertz UAE registered 63 per cent growth in revenue for the first three quarters of 2004 compared to the same period last year. Monthly rentals represent the fastest growing segment, with revenue up 95 per cent on the same period in 2003, while leasing and daily rentals grew by 60 and 39 per cent respectively.

The company's fleet has grown by 57 per cent compared to the same period last year. Hertz UAE has also for the first time branched out in the emirates of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah with its network of rental offices reaching 12 currently.

Another first for Hertz UAE is the recent opening of its 24-hour, seven days a week call centre, which is also the first of its kind for a car rental company in the UAE.

Accessible via the toll-free 800 4345, the new call centre will be on hand to take reservations for new customers and to deal with requests for repairs and maintenance, emergency assistance and general enquiries from existing customers.

In Dubai, Hertz UAE has branches on the Airport Road, at the Sheraton Towers, at Dubai International Airport, at Jebel Ali Free Zone, the Toyota service centre in Ramoul, and at the Trading Enterprises service centre in Ramoul.

In the capital, Hertz branches are at Abu Dhabi International Airport and on Al Falah Street, while in Sharjah, there are branches at both the Toyota & Honda service centres. Hertz is also operating from the Al Futtaim Motors Workshop in Fujairah and the Hilton hotel Ras Al Khaimah.
