The new CSO of Netlink, which recently announced its expansion plans for the region with an enhanced portfolio of technology solutions, is Mr. S. Satyajit, a veteran with wide ranging knowledge in integrated technology solutions, IT training, outsourcing, customer management and corporate affairs.

Mr. Satyajit has been on the top management of technology companies in India as well as in the region. He is also an acknowledged international expert on RFID, one of the new business terrains Netlink recently announced its entry into, as part of its value-added growth strategy.

Announcing the new CSO's role, Mr. Akash Arora, Chief Technical Architect, Netlink said: 'Mr. Satyajit has outstanding experience and many years of achievement to his credit especially in the technology and management field. His combination of skill, experience, intellect, leadership quality and customer focus made him uniquely qualified to be Netlink's CSO.'

'His coming on board is part of our ongoing growth strategy. We are in the middle of a comprehensive restructuring process which involves putting in place a new management structure with focus on regional expansion and value-addition to our existing business services,' he said.

Mr. Arora said the new CSO would be responsible for taking the company to its next growth phase by bringing in greater focus on formulation and implementation of strategy across the entire group.

'We believe that defining strategy for improving customer satisfaction and service levels are a priority area for Netlink. In addition to bringing newer solutions, increasing the product range offered by Netlink and making it more relevant to each of our customers, Mr. Satyajit will play an important role in looking at strategic mergers and acquisitions and also guide the group in anticipating changes in the market,' Mr. Arora added.

Satyajit started his IT career in 1986, the early days of the industry in India, with an organization offering IT training and software solutions. Being infected with the vision of starting something on his own, he then co-founded an enterprise called ASI Custom Software in 1987. Thirteen years later in 2000, he divested his holdings in this company to a mutual fund company based out of Boston, USA.

Post-2000, till joining Netlink, Mr. Satyajit was associated with a UAE-based company offering complete back-to-back solutions in the areas of IT training, software development, content creation & software solutions.

Commenting on his role in Netlink, Mr. Satyajit, said: 'Netlink is now executing a carefully structured growth plan, and I believe it is an excellent time for me to be in the company as its CSO. I believe it is time for Netlink to move to the next level of growth and evolution.'

'My endeavor would be to drive the company to higher levels of quality, customer satisfaction, improved product & client portfolio and better financial performance,' he said.

One of his first initiatives, in his new role as the CSO, was to virtually split the company into six independent non-competing divisions. Each unit will be an independent functional unit with responsibilities and growth challenges carved out for it separately. These units will also be able to leverage each other's strength for growth.

The six business units, which are built on the core strengths of Netlink in consulting, technology, and outsourcing are Netlink Outsourcing, Netlink Interactive, Netlink Infrastructure, Netlink Motion, Netlink BLRM and the newly introduced Netlink RFID.

'While Netlink Infrastructure and Netlink Motion are currently focused only on the UAE, purely because of the large opportunities they have found locally, Netlink Interactive and Netlink RFID's focus is wider, encompassing the entire GCC,' Mr. Satyajit said.

'Netlink Outsourcing follows two independent strategies within the division - one segment focuses on the GCC market while the other looks at the European and American market,' he added.

Netlink is also currently in the process of expanding and strengthening its Dubai and regional operations with a view to cater to its growing client base and rising demand for innovative solutions.

The company recently announced that it would be opening a software development and outsourcing centre in the UAE, transferring a major chunk of resources currently deployed in its operations in Gurgaon in North India.
