  • PRESS RELEASE

British Airways has introduced its own galactic heroes for its Skyflyer passengers across the GCC - SkyflyerBravo and SkyflyerAlpha are part of British Airways' in-flight entertainment for young travellers.

The two characters were introduced to entertain and enhance a child's travelling experience whilst flying on British Airways' flight.

"Skyflyers are our most prized customers and we have lots of goodies and services designed to make their journey as much fun as possible," says Steve Harrison, British Airways Area Manager, Middle East, North Africa and Central Asia.

The intrepid pair has been developed by the family-friendly airline to help sooth and entertain young travellers as well as enable them to clock up as many air smiles as possible.

The 'flight log book' introduced in the 1960s now features SkyflyerBravo and SkyflyerAlpha, allowing young travellers to collect signatures from the in-flight personnel certifying their flight details. The 'flight log book' is available for UK £1 from the 'Shopping the World' service on-board the aircraft.

Skyflyer packs for children includes brand new activity books, pens, stickers and toys and older children are given gifts such as a hand-held electronic game or Top Trumps. On longhaul flights, there are hours of on-screen family entertainment from The Simpsons, Disney and Cartoon Network, and the latest blockbuster movies such as Sharks Tale, Monster Inc, 101 Dalmatians and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban which all feature on flights during December.

There is also a dedicated family section on the British Airways website www.ba.com/skyflyers, which has been redesigned to make it more use friendly, with travel tips and travel advice, plus a 'Skyflyers' microsite especially for children.
