- PRESS RELEASE
On Monday 6th December, Dr. Mick Randall, Senior Lecturer and Acting Head of the Institute of Education at The British University in Dubai, will give a lecture titled, "Helping Teachers Improve: The Theory and Practice of Providing Advice".
"Teachers need guidance to help them teach their students effectively," said Dr. Randall. "In order to provide students with the very best education, it is important for a teacher to consider different methodologies for helping a pupil learn. At the same time, teachers must be guided effectively by teacher advisors who have the expertise and mentoring skills to help them achieve this."
Dr. Randall's lecture will explore these issues by looking at the theory behind providing advisory support and examining theoretical models taken from education.
Following the overwhelming success of the lecture series in Dubai and the numerous requests from Abu Dhabi residents, this is the first in a series of lectures the academic faculty will host in Abu Dhabi.
Also on December 6th, Abu Dhabi residents are invited to attend BUiD's Open Day at the Crowne Plaza, Abu Dhabi from 2-8pm. This event will give residents the opportunity to learn more about BUiD and meet with academic staff.
The BUiD Open Day and Open Lecture in Abu Dhabi is part of a number of events which will be happening in the month of December. The University will be holding a series of Open Days and lectures at its Knowledge Village campus in the upcoming weeks and welcomes all of those interested in learning more about BUiD.
