- PRESS RELEASE
Senior officials from the General Exhibitions Corporation (GEC) recently returned from attending the '71st UFI Congress', held in Bangkok, Thailand from 24-27 November 2004 at the prestigious Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC).
"GEC is proud to be part of this esteemed organisation that is internationally recognised and respected by all its members. The 71st Congress was very important to GEC, not least from a networking stand point, but also to interact with other exhibition organisers and landlords", commented Mr. Ahmad Humaid Al Mazrouie, Director General of GEC.
"This meeting was a resounding success for GEC and Ufi. 50 new members were welcomed to the organisation, which resulted in increase of 20%", he added.
The Ufi seal is given to exhibitions that operate at the international standard set for the industry. This seal gives the exhibition worldwide credibility and GEC is proud to have two of its exhibitions awarded with this seal; the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) and the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (ADIPEC).
