Arab Strategy Forum attracts regional and international experts to map out the blueprint for the Arab World in 2020

The Organizing Committee for the Arab Strategy Forum announced the participation of top regional and international experts in the Arab Strategy Forum, which is to be held on December 13-15, 2004.
He added, "We expect extensive participations this year as the theme 'The Arab World in 2020' is highly relevant for the region. We expect participation from private and public sectors from the GCC and the Arab region as well as from leading international organizations."
The first session will feature HRH Prince Turki Al Faisal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Kingdom; HE Buthaina Shaaban, Syria and Madeleine Albright, Former Secretary of State, USA in a session titled 'The Arab World in 2020'. In this session, the speakers will discuss the future of the new world order, the results of globalization in the Arab world especially in the political and security related issues, the future of Islamic movements and its relations to the governing systems, and the steps that Arab countries should take in order to eliminate the disadvantages of these movements.
Session 2 will feature HE Ahmad Maher, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Egypt and Professor Francis A. Boyle, Professor, International Law, University of Illinois who will highlight the factors influencing the future of governing systems in the region, political reformation practices and the rules and conditions for democratic reformation, the impact of reformations on the transparency of governments in the Arab world, the current actions being taken towards establishing a democratic region, the impact of political maturity on the economic shape of the countries and the role that countries play in shaping constitutional authorities to represent their people.
Eight pre-eminent local and international organisations have come forward to offer their unstinted support for this year's Arab Strategy Forum. The premiere annual event has six Organising Partners and two Media Partners. They are Emirates National Oil Company Ltd (ENOC), Abraaj Capital, PricewaterhouseCooper, DaimlerChrysler Middle East, National Bank of Dubai and Gulf News, in addition to our Media Partners Al Sharq Al Awsat and CNN. The Arab Strategy Forum will provide valuable insights, which will help in improving the status of the Arab World.
