- PRESS RELEASE
HSBC Insurance Brokers Limited, part of the insurance division of the HSBC Group, is sponsoring the presentation theatre at the forthcoming Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition, at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 6-8 December.
The Seatrade Middle East Maritime Exhibition was first held in Dubai in 2003. Its outlook for the region's shipping industry in the Middle East is increasingly positive, with a strong economy recently boosted by the prospects of reconstruction in Iraq. It sees virtually all sectors of shipping experiencing regional growth surges, from container and chemical, general and project, and tanker. Seatrade report that Middle Eastern shipping lines are showing steady growth in volumes and freight rate levels, regional ports are expanding their facilities, and local ship-owners are investing in more and more new buildings and upgrades.
The exhibition showcases commercial and cruise shipping products and services and is now an established platform for enhancing the profile of shipping and marine companies in the region and beyond. It also provides a meeting point for top international executives, purchasers and other business prospects.
The HSBC Insurance Brokers presentation theatre provides the facility for exhibitors to demonstrate the services they provide, and to promote their companies to attendees to the exhibition. HSBC Insurance Brokers Limited will themselves be making a presentation at the exhibition, on the 2005 edition of HSBC Insurance Brokers Protection and Indemnity review. This review examines the environment P and I clubs operate within including issues such as the increasing criminalisation of seafarers and the tackling of substandard ships. In addition Nigel Russell, Managing Director, Marine Division HSBC Insurance Brokers London will be speaking during the conference on insurance issues for the owners of super-yachts.
Robin Harman, Managing Director of HSBC Insurance Brokers Limited, Dubai Branch said "The insurance market in the UAE, and further afield, supports a broad range of insurance companies. Our portfolio and experience extend to both indigenous and international companies licensed to underwrite risks within the United Arab Emirates. The Seatrade Exibition provides us with an ideal platform to demonstrate our capabilities and to network with the ever increasing marine community both locally and regionally."
The HSBC Insurance Brokers Limited presentation theatre is located at Sheikh Rashid Hall of the Dubai World Trade Centre & Convention Centre.
