- PRESS RELEASE
PeopleSoft Inc. (Nasdaq: PSFT) today announced that the region's leading satellite entertainment provider, EUROSTAR, will deploy PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne throughout its United Arab Emirates' offices.
The deployment of PeopleSoft's solutions is a cornerstone of the company's ambitious expansion plans to make EUROSTAR one of the world's largest satellite entertainment providers. "EUROSTAR selected PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne because it is ideally suited for our business, providing us with the adaptability to manage growth over a sustained period of time," commented Mukul Agarwal, vice president of finance of EUROSTAR.
With more than 250 employees, 19 showrooms in Dubai, and branches in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi, EUROSTAR has established a significant presence in the UAE. EUROSTAR will initially use PeopleSoft's industry-leading solutions to automate back-office processes such as finance, sales, payroll, human resources, purchasing and inventory.
In addition, PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne features a service and warranty management module that will enable EUROSTAR to track the warranty status of the products it sells to customers, and instantly share this information with its customer service center. As a result, EUROSTAR can ensure that its products are fully maintained and that customer inquiries are handled with up-to-date information, thereby improving customer service.
EUROSTAR also plans to deploy PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne for sales forecasting. PeopleSoft EntepriseOne can enable the company to use real-time data in statistically based forecasts to predict and plan future demand, enabling more efficient deployment of resources.
"After exhaustive evaluation and assessment, in which a number of potential vendors were short listed and scrutinised, EUROSTAR selected PeopleSoft EnterpriseOne. We evaluated PeopleSoft based on specific criteria, including the quality of the software solution offered, the company's experience in the telecommunication industry, and the speed with which the solution could be deployed across our organisation," added Agarwal.
"EUROSTAR is a prime example of how businesses in the region are using technological investment to provide firm foundations for their expansion plans," said Jeffrey Read, managing director and vice president, EMEA Sales Distribution Group, PeopleSoft.
PeopleSoft continues to demonstrate momentum in the Gulf enterprise software market in recent months. The company has announced new customer wins in the oil and gas, distribution and technology sectors, including Byblos Bank in Lebanon and Al Jaber Energy Services in the United Arab Emirates.
