Top crime agencies attend Etisalat Academy's MEITSEC 2004 conference

Crime fighting agencies, including America's Federal Bureau of Investigation and London's Scotland Yard have agreed to attend the Etisalat Academy organised Middle East Information Technology Conference and Exhibition (MEITSEC 2004) amid growing concern over IT security.
Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager of Etisalat Academy, said: "The conference will be looking to produce solutions in areas such as Management and Legislative Forensics, Infrastructure and System Integrity, E-commerce and E-Government Security, and Mobile and Wireless IP Security.
"Having the FBI and Scotland Yard here will add a different dimension to the discussion and give a wider context to our activities."
Dr. Fares added: "The Management and Legislative Forensics group will highlight subjects such as Information Security Governance, which will be presented by Dr. Jody Westby, Managing Director of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Challenges in Securely Sharing Information and Intelligence, presented by Morgan Wright, Homeland Security. A talk on International Cooperation and Cybercrime will be given by Professor Susan Brenner, from the University of Dayton's School of Law."
Other discussions will centre on topics such as Watermarking applications and New Developments, which will be presented by Dr. Hassan Al Ahmed and Dr. Mohammed Al Mualla from Etisalat College for Engineering, and A tactical Approach to Spam, presented by Abdul Karim Riyaz from Computer Associates. There will also be speakers from Cisco, AccessData, CISSP LTD, Symantec and McAfee.
Attention will also be focused on the specialist areas of E-Commerce and E-Government Security, and discussions entitled Limiting and shifting Risk Loss and Liability for E-commerce Activities: the US experience, and Implementation of Wireless at Boeing Lessons Learned, will offer case studies of how specific concerns have been tackled by major players.
Other topics mooted for discussion include Secure Code Practices, Routing Infrastructure Attacks, Hacking Methods and Techniques, the Future of Internet Security - As seen from 2015 and Cyperspace - Clear and Present Danger.
