CO-OP ISLAMI takes lead role at Arab Nutrition conference

CO-OP ISLAMI announced it had taken a lead role in the second Arab conference for nutrition that began in Bahrain on Monday and ends today.
Experts and food scientists will be given a platform to raise some of the more urgent issues in the local food industry and offer solutions. Saleh Abdulla Lootah, Assistant General Manager of CO-OP ISLAMI Operations, said: "Such conferences help companies working in the nutritional sector identify new trends. We need a better understanding of consumer's nutritional needs, especially in terms of health, and I am positive that this meeting will provide that.
"It is also an opportunity to exchange views and experiences and we are pleased to see and encourage cooperation between companies and corporations in the region. Employees and managers need to be aware of the importance of healthy nutrition."

CO-OP ISLAMI is committed to the branding of its products as The Real Halal, based on Islami Shariah principles. The halal element is involved at all stages of production of its goods and influences even the food intake of its chickens, which is guaranteed to be 100 per cent vegetable.

Establishing CO-OP ISLAMI came into being as a result of long relentless efforts commenced in the early seventies when Hajj Saied Bin Ahmad Lootah instituted Dubai Cooperative Society. Since it was initially launched, Dubai Cooperative Society was immersed in hard works to establish the principles of commercial dealings. Later on, 1981 came to mark a changing history of Dubai Cooperative Society established "CO-OP ISLAMI" for the purpose making real Halal food available for consumers through legal Islamic Supervision on all meat products imported from outside UAE.
