- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, December 08 - 2004 at 15:43
- PRESS RELEASE
Damas, the reputed jewellery group, has been nominated to mandate and organise the International Brands of Jewellery and Watches Pavilion at the prestigious International Jewellery Dubai 2004 being held between December 6 and 10, 2004.
More than 50 international brands such as Tiffany & Co., Graff, Scavia, Leo Pizzo, Roberto Coin, Orlandini, Laurentia, Pasquale Bruni, Maria Gaspari, Carrera y Carrera and premium watch brands such as Paul Jobin, Chronoswiss, Sarcar, Bell & Ross and Fortis have debuted at the International Jewellery Dubai Exhibition this year. Inspired by Damas' confidence in terms of far reaching brand exposure and conversion rate of footfalls to confirmed sales these top brands have put up stunning displays of their gorgeous collections at this presitigious forum.
This is the first time that an exclusive section for international branded jewellery has been set up at the International Jewellery Dubai exhibition. Tawhid Abdullah, Managing Director of Damas was highly appreciative of the values and synergy that these brands have brought to the gold and jewellery segment in Dubai. "Dubai is rightfully known as the 'City of gold, gems and diamond jewellery'. No doubt the smooth and secure infrastructure facilities created by the Government of Dubai have hugely encouraged the trade in promoting the gold and jewellery segment. In addition, the presence of top international jewellery brands all available right here in the souks and the shopping malls of Dubai, has played major role in creating this reputation. In turn, the shoppers of Dubai have generously reciprocated their appreciation of these brands in terms of sales. It has been a mutually beneficial relationship," emphasised Tawhid Abdullah.
"We would now like to expand our horizons by creating a wider canvass from across the GCC region and the Far East. The International Jewellery Dubai exhibition has been one of the most popular venues for trade interaction in this region and we are sure the International Jewellery and Watch Brands Pavilion will create ripples by not only increased brand awareness but also confirmed orders," added Tawhid Abdullah.
Dubai's role as the trading hub of gold and diamond jewellery is strengthened by the inception of the Dubai Gold and Commodities Exchange and the Dubai Diamond Exchange. High end international brands are increasingly finding Dubai, the City o Gold and Diamond jewellery an attractive market to make their mark in the Middle East consumer psyche. This is largely due to the fact that Dubai serves as the trading hub for the subcontinent, which has the largest per capita consumption of gold. Besides this Dubai is considered a high-spend market where buyers have shown increased awareness of exclusive designer and branded jewellery.
Damas has had a successful association with top international brands for many years now. The introduction of international brands by Damas has worked well in educating the consumer and encouraging them to demand more value in terms of design in jewellery. The mandate of setting up the International Brands of Jewellery and Watches Pavilion at the prestigious International Jewellery Dubai 2004 exhibition by Damas is therefore an extension of the role it has played in this field.
