New Vice President for Mall of the Emirates

Majid Al Futtaim Investments, a leading retail and property developer in the Middle East, has recently announced the appointment of Jim Badour as Vice President of Mall of the Emirates, the region's most innovative retail project.

Jim's current responsibilities include overseeing short and long term planning and operation of this key asset in the Majid Al Futtaim Investments portfolio.

"Jim has been with Majid Al Futtaim Investments for a number of years, and we are confident that his expertise in this field will have a significant impact on Mall of the Emirates' development and plans, enhancing its position as the most exciting and ambitious retail project in the Middle East," commented Peter Walichnowski, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Investments.

Jim has extensive shopping centre experience and has held a number of managerial positions in several properties since 1981. He joined Majid Al Futtaim Investments in 1999, as Vice President of Deira City Centre, the UAE's top entertainment and leisure complex, to supervise the centre's operations. Before assuming his role in Deira City Centre, Jim was Regional Manager of Bentall Retail Services, based in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. Prior to that, he spent 18 years managing various shopping centres throughout Canada while working at Cambridge Shopping Centres (now Ivanhoe Cambridge).

Jim obtained the Certified Shopping Centre Manager (CSM) designation from the International Council of Shopping Centres, and the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation from the Real Estate Institute of Canada. He also completed the Advertising and Marketing Program from the Communications Arts Department of St. Clair College, located in his home town, Windsor, Ontario.
