Dubai tourism workshop in Paris evokes overwhelming response

The eight edition of the Dubai workshop organised recently by the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) in Paris generated overwhelming response from the travel trade professionals and media from France and Belgium, reconfirming the ever-increasing popularity of the emirate as an ideal year-round business and leisure destination.
Twenty five representatives from hotels, Destination Marketing Companies and Development Organizations attended the full-day event.
The DTCM Overseas Representation office in Paris arranged 697 personnel meetings with the representatives of the French and Belgium Tour Operators, MICE organizers and the Media.
France is an important source market for Dubai and there has been a significant year-on-year increase in the number of visitors from this country. The number of Dubai hotel establishment visitors from France saw a seven per cent increase in 2003 over the previous year.
Meanwhile, the department presented an award to Dubai Golf Holidays and Events for the Best Co-participant Presentation during the East European road shows it conducted in October.
The road shows were conducted by the DTCM for the first time from in the Czech Republic, Hungry and Poland.
In choosing the company, the department took into consideration the attractiveness, creativity and display tidiness of the presentation in addition to professional approach to clients and interaction with the clients at all the venues.
Ms. Michelle Chedotal, General Manager, Dubai Golf Holidays & Events, received the award from the DTCM Manager Overseas Promotions, Mr. Khalifa Buamaim, at a ceremony in DTCM Head Office recently.
The 14 co-participants for the East European road shows comprised of Dubai-based hotels and hotel apartments, tour operators, travel companies, in addition to the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation (DCA).
