Dubai DED organizes walkabout with Paco Underhill

The Department of Economic Development (DED) organized a mall walkabout with internationally renowned 'retail anthropologist' Paco Underhill, at the Deira City Centre recently.
The walkabout followed a detailed seminar conducted by Mr. Underhill on "The Future of Retailing. " More than 500 representatives of Dubai's business community including members of the Dubai Service Excellence Scheme (DSES) attended the seminar.
Mr. Underhill is the founder and Managing Director of Envirosell, a New York based research and consulting firm with offices around the world. He has earned his status as a leading expert and pioneer in the field with over 25 years experience in studying the shopping patterns of people. He has also written two books including Why We Buy: The Science of Shopping and Call of the Mall: The Geography of Shopping.

About Department of Economic Development (DED):The Department of Economic Development (DED) was established in March 1992, with the objective to organise, regulate and boost trade and industry within the Emirate of Dubai. The DED has moulded its mission of building a futuristic establishment, in accordance with the vision of the Government of Dubai and in the light of globalisation and the requirements of a digital economy.
